  • Emmaus House

    Emmaus House will host several opportunities this summer to find out more about St. Ignatius of Loyola and the Spiritual Exercises. You and some of your friends may want to join us for an informational session to be held on Thursday, August 20th at 6:00 p.m. These gatherings, which will be held at Emmaus House, 1521 Center Street, Des Moines, are free, open to the public and no RSVPs are required.   • Grinnell Deanery MS/HS Swim Party

    Grinnell Deanery MS/HS Swim Party will be on August 16 at the Newton Aquatic Center. Leave Pella at 3:30 and return by 8:00 p.m. There is no cost to the student. Call Carol Laughlin at 780-3819 to sign up before August 12th. Come hear and support Tim Stammeyer, a Sacred Heart Newton native, currently a member of the NET Ministries 2015/2016 team along with super snacks and swimming.


  • Children’s Liturgy of the Word

    Children’s Liturgy of the Word will begin on October 4th during the 10:30 Mass. It is available for 4 year olds through those in first grade. Older children are asked to participate in the Mass. There is not a registration, children will be called forward and sent forth following the opening prayer. If you would like to help with Children’s Liturgy, please contact Carol Laughlin at 780-3819.


  • Religious Education Registration

    Registration will be available on the weekends of August 22-23 and 28-29 following Masses. Classes are forming for Kindergarten through High School Seniors. Registration fees remain at $40 per year per child Kindergarten through sixth grade meet Wednesdays from 5:45—7:00 p.m. Middle School and High School meet on Sunday evening from 7:00-8:30 p.m. The complete schedule for the year will be available at registration.


  • 5K Run/Walk for LIFE

    Pathways of Pella will be hosting its annual 5K Run/Walk for LIFE on Saturday, September 12 at Pella Christian High School. Registration at 7:30 a.m. with race beginning at 8:00 a.m.

    Cost is $25 before Aug. 30 (to guarantee a t-shirt please register prior to Aug. 15). $30 after Aug. 30 (no guarantee of shirt). Kids 12 & under walk/run free (no shirt, but may order them for $10 each prior to Aug. 15). Raise $150 and up in pledges and you and your family walk/run for free, 2 free t-shirts and eligible for prize drawings!

    CONGRATULATIONS to Lowell Van Wyk and the members of Deacon Class VII who were instituted in the Ministry of Lector on July 12 at Sacred Heart Church in Newton. Please keep them in your prayers as they begin their fourth year in formation.

    The Well Resource Center is excited to again partner with local churches and businesses to host the Getting Ahead and Connections programs and we need YOU! Join one of our teams to prepare food, pray, love and care for children, provide transportation or become an ally. This is a great opportunity to offer support to people who are interested in building skills and resources to write a better future story.
